Ripples was performed by the Studio Collective in April 2021 as past of the PLUG festival at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. The piece is based on the concept of effect pedals and aims to find sonic attributes of reverb, echo/delay and distortion on acoustic instruments. I aimed to blur the boundaries between what is perceived as electronic and acoustic and, at the same time, find emotion in the sonic attributes of effects such as reverb, echo and distortion.
