Jakob von Uexküll's Umwelt theory states that there is not one objective of our world, but is made up of the subjective impressions of each living creature. If we were to draw a soap bubble around each being and step into one of those bubbles, our sense of time and space as we know it would vanish. This new collaborative work from immersive artist Laura Mannelli and sound artist Sonia Killmann riffs on Umwelt theory, depicting a dystopian ecosystem, contrasting machinic visuals with an interactive organic soundtrack. The installation also features a bio-booklet composed of all the artificial creatures in this ecosystem and a performance composed by Sonia Killmann. The booklet and EP are available via Bandcamp.
